Mystery Readers' Meeting, April 20

The next Mystery Readers' Meeting will be held on April 20 at 6:30pm at the Visalia Library (upstairs, in the "blue" meeting room). This month's theme is: Death and Taxes (or finance or taxes). For ideas on which authors and titles to read, please see April's reading list on the Friends' web page.

Friends of the Library Meeting, April 14

Friends of the Library Literary Basket Drawing

The Friends’ Literary Baskets are back, and we have some fantastic choices for you this year. Tickets are just $1.00 each. To enter the drawing, simply fill out your tickets, be sure to mark which basket number you wish to win, and return the tickets with your check (made out to "Friends of the Library"), to the Visalia Library by April 1st.

The drawing will be held Saturday evening, April 9th, at a free Friends of the Library event. You do not have to be present to win.

Meet Local Author, Ernest J. Finney, April 9th

Join us at the Visalia library on April 9th for an evening with award-winning local author, Ernest J. Finney. Finney's short fiction has received a number of awards, among them an O' Henry Award for "Peacocks." His two story-collections, Birds Landing and Flights in the Heavenlies, won California Book Awards. His newest book is Sequoia Gardens: California Stories.

This free event begins at 7:00 pm at the Tulare County Library, located at 200 W. Oak Ave., in Visalia.
